The following policies are in place to ensure a safe, professional, and effective learning environment for all participants of ApexL Academy. By enrolling in the program, participants and guardians (if applicable) agree to abide by these rules and guidelines.
1. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and responsibility at all times during the program. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Disrespect towards peers, staff, or mentors.
- Possession or use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products.
- Unauthorized use of equipment or facilities.
- Behavior that endangers the safety or well-being of others.
Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including removal from the program without refund.
2. Safety Policies
General Safety:
- All participants must follow safety guidelines provided during activities, including SCUBA, rock climbing, and tactical training.
- Participants are required to wear appropriate gear and use equipment as instructed.
Medical Precautions:
- Participants must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or required medications during registration.
- A certified Wilderness First Aid responder will be on-site during all outdoor activities.
Emergency Procedures:
- In the event of an emergency, participants must follow staff instructions immediately.
- Emergency contact information must be provided for all participants.
3. Attendance & Participation
- Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled activities unless excused for medical or personal reasons.
- Participants are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for each session.
- Missed activities due to unexcused absences may affect eligibility for certifications and awards.
4. Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Full refunds are available if cancellation is requested more than 60 days before the program start date.
- Partial refunds (50%) are available if cancellation occurs between 30 and 60 days before the program start date.
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the program start date or for participants removed due to policy violations.
5. Liability Waiver
All participants and guardians (if applicable) must sign a liability waiver before the start of the program, acknowledging the inherent risks associated with outdoor and adventure-based activities. ApexL Academy assumes no liability for injuries or accidents resulting from failure to adhere to safety guidelines or staff instructions.
6. Equipment & Property
- Participants are responsible for the care of any equipment issued to them, including uniforms, SCUBA gear, and tactical gear.
- Lost or damaged equipment may result in additional charges.
- Unauthorized removal or misuse of equipment or property is grounds for dismissal from the program.
7. Communication & Technology
- Participants are encouraged to limit the use of personal devices during program activities to focus on leadership development and team-building.
- ApexL Academy staff reserve the right to restrict technology use during specific sessions or activities.
8. Certification Requirements
To receive certifications offered during the program (e.g., SCUBA, Wilderness First Aid), participants must:
- Complete all required training sessions.
- Pass associated evaluations or assessments.
- Demonstrate adherence to program policies and active participation in activities.
9. Privacy Policy
ApexL Academy respects the privacy of all participants. Personal information collected during registration is used solely for administrative and safety purposes and will not be shared without consent, except as required by law.
10. Program Adjustments
ApexL Academy reserves the right to adjust the schedule, activities, or policies as necessary due to weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be notified promptly of any significant changes.
