This is America today. Young people are growing up in a world defined by unprecedented challenges. Anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression are at all-time highs. Over 70% of adults are overweight or obese. Social and political division runs deeper than it has in over a century. Every day, we are faced with new existential threats, from global conflict to environmental crises.
Now more than ever, the world needs leaders. Leaders who have the courage to stand up, take ownership, and create the change we desperately need.
But leadership isn’t something that happens on its own. It takes intentional effort, proper training, and the willingness to step outside your comfort zone. Unfortunately, most leadership programs miss the mark. Too often, they rely on tired lectures, generic PowerPoint presentations, or simplistic team-building exercises that don’t leave participants with real, lasting growth. These programs aren’t preparing anyone for the realities of the modern world.
We knew there had to be a better way.
We built APExL from the ground up to address the problems we saw in traditional leadership development. Our program is based on a simple truth: leadership cannot be taught in a classroom. Real leadership is learned through action. It’s built through experience, trial, and pushing beyond limits.
Our team brings firsthand expertise from some of the most demanding environments imaginable, whether that’s making life-or-death decisions in combat, building businesses from scratch, or coaching teams to championship seasons. What we’ve learned is that leadership shows up under pressure, and real growth comes from taking on real challenges.
At APExL, we provide those challenges. From earning a PADI scuba certification to flying real aircraft, completing military-grade leadership scenarios, and hiking Mount Timpanogos, every part of our program is immersive, hands-on, and designed to push participants beyond what they thought was possible.
Leadership isn’t easy, and we don’t believe in shortcuts. But for those who are ready to rise to the occasion, ApexL Academy offers the opportunity to develop the skills, resilience, and character to lead with purpose.
We’ll give you the tools, but YOU will have to earn it.
At APExL our mission is simple:
To provide unmatched training experiences that forge certified leaders who can excel in any environment.
Adaptability:
The ability to assess a rapidly changing situation, pivot plans as needed, and execute effectively under pressure. Leaders must stay flexible, limit their ego, and prioritize what matters most to overcome obstacles.
Boldness of Action:
The willingness to step up, make tough decisions, and take calculated risks when the mission demands it. Bold leaders act aggressively but with discipline, refusing to hesitate in moments that require action.
Connection:
The foundation of trust and teamwork. Building strong relationships through clear communication, mutual respect, and consistent support allows a team to function as a cohesive unit, where everyone knows their role and has each other’s backs.
At APExL, we base our training on direct experience. Participants apply practical skills in the field and earn industry-recognized certifications like PADI Open Water SCUBA and Wilderness First Aid, along with the ApexL Elite Leadership Certificate.
We keep groups small for focused mentorship and personal feedback. Each challenge requires action and commitment, helping leaders develop skills that mean something when it counts.
Other programs usually put you in a room, hand you a binder, and call it a day. We don’t do that. You can’t learn to lead if you never leave the lecture hall. At ApexL, you’ll push limits and leave with skills you’ll trust when it really counts.
This experience continues long after the program ends. ApexL offers ongoing support, guidance, and connections that stand the test of time. Graduates join a community formed through shared effort and a respect for what it takes to grow.
We plan to add short-format sessions and explore the possibility of day camps, all while offering new options for corporate teams. We are working to build partnerships with groups like the University of Utah, Hill Air Force Base, and the Utah National Guard. Our standards remain consistent, and the purpose stays clear: to put people into real situations that strengthen their leadership skills.
Stay tuned, and follow us on social media to stay up to date with all our latest program offerings!
